Beguiling lies

Raised in righteousness,
The light and the midst.
Told of pilgrims and saints,
For glory we’d wait.

Beguiling lies,
Binding ties,
Control and deceit,
Keeping us under their feet.

No tools,
Only fools.
Their grotesque games,
Inflicted such pain.

What was it for?
The prophecy, the lore.
Their holy war,
Their lies we bore.

We long for a home
That never existed.
So forever we’ll roam
Maimed and twisted.
